one afternoon

Strolling at Sunway Pyramid mall yesterday, actually I was supposed to buy a birthday cake but my favorite go-to bakery, Komugi, has shifted from their old place to a smaller and should I say.. lamer? The choice of the breads is lesser and they don't even have cakes and pudding section anymore? GOSH. So I put off the idea of buying cakes and just strolled arond.

gonna buy this next time. the review looks good and what attracts me the most is the cover haha.. pastel color me likeyyy x.x

Sylvanian Families surprisingly pretty popular in Malaysia

decided to kill time by watching Kayako vs Sadako. They did a pretty good job with the scary effects, and it did make me jumpy few times but that's it. The storyline and plot is kinda dissapointing. Watch if you have free time but don't expect a lot.

Sozo Japanese Restaurant review @ Sunway Giza Mall

I have always been a fan of buffet (who doesn't?) The idea of stuffing yourself with so many varieties of foods to choose from always makes me happy.

Malaysia spoil me with different choices of buffet restaurants, even the most bizzare buffet I couldn't even think of (durian buffet.. eekkk!) shabu-shabu, steamboat, dimsum, western, pasta, japanese, well you name it. I have tried most of 'em and I should say I'm gonna miss all of those when I going back for good.

Sozo Japanese Restaurant @ Sunway Giza Mall is newly player when it comes to Japanese buffet. Japanese restaurants has been mushrooming in Selangor area recently and they even come up with clever idea, Japanese ala-carte buffet! Y know, if you visit Japanese restaurants frequently (Sakae Sushi, Sushi Tei, Sushi King, etc) it can cost a bomb to order even few dishes only. And that is when Japanese buffet restaurants come in rescue hahaha. The old-fashioned japanese buffet (by old-fashioned I mean those pre-cooked foods in mass and keep in warmer, that you need to queue with aunties, not to mention you don't have any idea how long those foods have been sitting there) like Shogun, Saisaki, and Janggun (tried all of 'em, and it was pretty awful) are the first pioneer of Japanese buffets restaurants in Malaysia.

Having a pretty bad experience with those buffet restaurants (diarrhea, food taste weird and cold, and expensive price) I was craving for something new. Ala-carte Japanese buffet is the answer, because:

  1. It was cooked upon order, so you are guaranteed to get a freshly-cooked and warm food in your table.
  2. The price is cheaper, much much cheaper compare with Shogun or Jogoya and surprisingly it tastes much better and yummier.
  3. No more fighting to take foods with aunties (yeah kiasu aunties, i'm looking at ya) those who pilled up their plates with foods enough for whole kampong and ended up being wasted.. it hurts my heart pretty badly seeing that. :(
  4. Reducing the chance of food wasted. Y know, because it's prepared upon order and the portion is smaller. No more being greedy and stacking up your plates with foods you don't intend to eat in the end. This gives you room to sample more foods too.
My senior asked me out to try Sozo and by hearing two words that i like so much, buffet and japanese, I immediately agree. And boy, it was definitely a feast to remember. :D

Sashimi! An all-time favorite and must have. I'm glad the sashimi was fresh and not too thick on the cutting. It was just nice.

forgot the name, but i think this was bamboo clam stir-fry thingy. I am not really a fan and this his order, he ate even before i got a chance to snapped a photo. T.T

soft shell crab mango salad with special sauce. I finished the soft shell but leave the veggies to him hahaha.

salmon carpachio. Not too my liking, I prefer raw sashimi. Yasss..

We still sample a lot more foods than these, but unfortunately my phone battery died so I had to stop snapping photos. But overall, 8/10 for the rating. Some things need to be improved, like the ordering system, they delivered the wrong orders sometimes and even forget to delivering some of our orders. And, ice cream replenished slowly. Out of 3 ice cream tubes, 2 of 'em almost finish already but still remain that way until the last order.

More info you can check out:

(by the way, you can check out their menu for actual price of each foods you have to spend if you were to pay for each of it. It's awesome, you get to know if you already gain back your buffet money or not hahaha. My kiasuness reigns!)

when i met you in the summer.

Photos from trip to Bali last year. Yeah yeah, I know... it is waaay to late but better late than never. I have never liked Bali, it's a shame because I am an Indonesian. But, everytime I think of Bali, it is like not a part of Indonesia anymore. Bali is too westernized, or at least that was popped up on my mind everytime. Fun fact: our travel guide said Bali is desirable tourist destination for Hollywood celebrities because they are literally invisible there. Even Mick Jagger can walking around in Bali with short pants and no one noticed it. Woah... I don't really mind bumping into Jason Statham or Daniel Craig and it would be impossible not to notice it hahaha fangirl mode: on. When my dad came up with the idea to spent 2 days of Aidil Fitri holiday in Bali, I was quite skeptical and should I say, not really looking forward to it?  Well, anyway, I don't really remember how it went because it was a year ago and I just cleaning up my cameras when I plugged out the memory card and found these photos.

I realized I seldom uploading photos to my blog hahaha and there are not many photos in this post because I sorted it out and pick less than 10 to edited it.

First stop is Luwak plantation coffee. Luwak is rarest type of coffee made from the fermentation of coffee cherries from this cutie little one here and extracted with special acids and enzymes on his stomach producing world's rarest coffee beans, yeah gross.. but I am even more worried about the animals. Do they get proper care and feeding well.. and so on. Sigh. We went there and they gave us few sampling cups of coffee with different flavors and it costs you IDR 50K  if you are interested to purchase a packet of it.

the highlight of our vacation: having dinner while watching the sun goes down. but it is a big let down because the food was so pricey and should I say.. overrated? Tasted mediocre too, so I guess you are really paying for the sunset then haha. Anyway, I remembered the sunset last about few seconds and we are busy clicking cameras, taking pictures and so on. Definitely a remarkable experience but I won't be coming back for second time.

We fell in love

late night confession.

Tried to downloaded a torrent of Adobe Photoshop but getting stuck with this password download thingy. It keeps on asking me to watch stupid dumb ass videos (which I did try to watch, because I need to download the password, BUT this stupid and i suspect some scam video streaming websites keep asking me for credit card details and refuse to let me watch their stupid vids until I do so.) and BUNCH of pointless surveys which leads to nothing after I have done filling it up no matter how ridiculous the questions are.

Purchasing the software for RM 300/year does not seem too bad, because I don't want to be bothered EVER AGAIN with cracked software or pirated software. Yep, they might seem tempting, believe me, I was tempted too.. but the super complicated and exhausting steps pissing me off. Meh. I really don't mind paying rm 300 for a genuine one if it is saving me from headache.

the voice within.

I have never found a song that every words of the lyric describing me so perfectly as this song. This song has give me strength for all these years I have been dealing with so many things. I have made mistakes, I did stupid things, there are waay to many things that I wish I did not do, and oh how I wish that time machine were invented. But I have learned a hard way, and I am glad this song has encourage me to stay true to myself. :)

Young girl, don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall
Young girl, it's alright
Your tears will dry, you'll soon be free to fly

When you're safe inside your room you tend to dream
Of a place where nothing's harder than it seems
No one ever wants or bothers to explain
Of the heartache life can bring and what it means

When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend
Just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You'll learn to begin
To trust the voice within

Young girl, don't hide
You'll never change if you just run away
Young girl, just hold tight
And soon you're gonna see your brighter day

Now in a world where innocence is quickly claimed
It's so hard to stand your ground when you're so afraid
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
When you're lost outside look inside to your soul

When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend
Just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You will learn to begin
To trust the voice within

Yeah...
Life is a journey
It can take you anywhere you choose to go
As long as you're learning
You'll find all you'll ever need to know (be strong)
You'll break it (hold on)
You'll make it (be strong)
Just don't forsake it because
(No one can tell you what you can't do)
No one can stop you, you know that I'm talking to you

When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
And like your oldest friend
Just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You will learn to begin
To trust the voice within

Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall

eargasm. :)

I was maybe one hella lucky kid to have parents with such an awesome music taste. Many years ago, before the era of Youtube, internet, and music streaming exist, my mom and dad already have a stack of old cassettes , vinyl records, and tapes that will be considered rare for now. But, sadly we lost all of 'em when we moved to the new house. Me and my brother get exposed to Madonna,  Oasis, The Real Thing, and Michael Jackson since we were a toddler haha..

I managed to ask my mum about some of her favorite 80s-90s tracks and look it up on Spotify. Share it with you guys here..

Will keep updating so if you guys like it can subscribe to my spotify playlist above! Ciao :D
